Well.. this piece was a big shot in the dark for me. I tried out a lot of new techniques with this one, and I certainly hope that people will like it. I'm not 100% pleased with the end result.. but I'm getting tired of looking at it! o_o; I also realize that the outline is quite thick.. didn't mean for that to happen, but I will try to do better next time.
I like my Golden Phoenixes better than the traditional style.. but.. there are some of those normal types living in Morghanshire, too. If this picture goes over well, maybe I'll do some more Phoenix images.. ^_~
Anywhoo.. I have other versions, with different colors.. eh... don't know what to say about all of it..
And hey... this is only my second drawing with a pesudo-background, whoo!
This is a really good start with this idea. I like how the head of the phoenix turned out, but the wing could use some work. The longer feathers should be more the outside of the wing and maybe even try tying in the pinks and blues into the read of the body. Right now, the wing doesn't even look like it belongs to the bird. Instead of maybe the pink and purple, tie in the peacock feathers that were used for the crest....or figure out the color scheme altogether. Maybe work the same colors on the girl as well as in the bird. What are their relation? Is the bird suppose to be a symbol for the knight- her spirit? Or is it just her order symbol?
Where's her butt? THe legs appear to keep on going up without stopping. Maybe I am wrong, but something doesn't seem right. Maybe if you included her feet in the picture, that would help with the mind-boggle(Wish I had my friend's wacom tablet, I would go through and do some red-lining that they do at Yerf).
Digging the background idea, continue playing with!
Sorry for leaving such a long-winded comment, but I like the potential of work and want to see it grow. Good luck!
